Comic-book publishers have grown expert at collecting individual issues of a title as graphic novels and later rereleasing those collections with hitherto unpublished sequences, further artwork, and other "bonus" material to entice buffs to purchase the same book twice and thrice. DC Comics brings the game to a new level with the Absolute series of oversized, slipcased, hardcover volumes of landmark titles. Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns (1986), in which a cantankerous Batman emerged from retirement to clean up a depraved Gotham City, revolutionized superhero comics by darkening the tone of the genre and paved the way for artists and writers to treat familiar characters more idiosyncratically. It made Miller a superstar in the comic-book firmament. Its 15-years-later follow-up, The Dark Knight Strikes Again, however, turned off fans with its cartoony visuals and loopy attitude. Chef d'oeuvre
On a rarement lu une histoire d'une telle qualité scénaristique. Certes, elle peut paraitre confuse au premier abord mais DKR est, une fois maitrisee, un oeuvre assi pertinente que complexe. Les super heros y ont trouve leur maitre, Lex Luthor, incarnation de la cupidite, de l'insensibilité et donc de l'inhumanité dont seule l'espèce humaine est capable.
Même Superman est dépassé, à l'ombre de lui-même. Il ne reste que le champion de l'humanité, l'incorruptible Bruce Wayne pour nous sauver.
C'est effrayant de probabilité, supermen ou pas.

Un peu les coins abimés mais rien de bien méchant car le fourreau protège bien l'ouvrage... Le découpage de la pochette est un peu mal faite...

Coffret Batman Returns
Acheté deux fois cet article; superbe objet, à posséder absolument par tout fan du chevalier noir... De plus, le prix ridiculement bas proposé par Amazon le met à portée de tous; bref, que du bonheur... (Seul bémol, mon premier article est arrivé "cogné", malgré un bon emballage)
